I took a little trip to the nostalgic coastal town in Spain’s Catalonia region, Sitges.
The Mediterranean region boasts the delicate and dramatic interplay that forms when worlds collide. The sea gently meets the shore, bright azure waters caressing the warm sand formed by billions of years of continuous decimation. Sitges, located south of Barcelona, is emblematic of the dramatic Mediterranean. Its lovely natural landscape, illuminated by the sublime mediterranean sun, drew the attention of several painters who founded the Luminista school there. It developed a rich culture during the final years of the nineteenth century that was based around new social organizations, theaters, bands, and choirs. Urbanization has expanded since the 1920s and tourism has since gradually grown in size.
