Porto Covo always enchanted its visitors at first sight. Not only is it a friendly fishing village full of small white and blue houses, but being situated between the sea and the plains gives a calm vibe to the old traditional Alentejan village. Back in October, friendly mask covered older men roamed around and curious unlatched doors opened to empty streets. The COVID-19 pandemic has dealt a heavy blow to Portugals seafood industry, with fish markets still and without movement for months now. The traditional village is at a standstill. Old tradition meets new reality on the streets of Porto Covo.
