Social Distancing in Lisbon, Portugal

The Coronavirus has reached more than 100 countries worldwide and the number is still growing. In Portugal, measures such as a prohibition on public places, the closure of events, and a directive that residents follow instructions and orders from public health and civil protection officials were put into effect early/mid-March. Lisbon had until a few weeks ago been under a state of emergency and most citizens are advised not to leave their homes unless they need to go to the supermarket or hospital.

In the neighborhood of Ajuda in Lisbon, Portugal, we had see empty streets and social distancing, a strategy to limit the spread of the coronavirus among neighbours. Although there is uneasiness in the air, neighbors are doing their best to help each other, whether it means going grocery shopping for those older people who cannot leave the apartment or by keeping each other entertained.
