Whale watching was a highlight, while traveling to the coastal town of Puerto Lopez in Ecuador.
We were advised that it was whale season in Isla de la Plata (aka: Poor mans Galapagos).
We took a tour to see blue footed boobies, an array of different birds and plants that were of that area.
Our boat was very lucky in being there at the right time to see the humpback whales.
These graceful and beautifully calm animals displayed a dance of movements in the water, signifying the males mating call. The male humpback whale would jump and would slam the ocean water with the fins, as a way to attract the female.
